Kathmandu, 29 January 2026 – The “With Love from Russia” art exhibition was successfully inaugurated on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at the Russian House in Kathmandu. Organized to strengthen Nepal–Russia friendship and cultural ties through art, the exhibition served as an emotional and cultural bridge between the two nations.
The exhibition showcased works by renowned Russian artist Maria Semenova, whose creations convey messages of love, creativity, and shared cultural values.
The event began with a warm welcome to distinguished guests, artists, diplomats, and art enthusiasts. The formal inauguration was marked by the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Chief Guest Mr. Bhupal Rai, Vice-Chancellor of the Nepal Academy; Special Guest Mr. Kiran Manandhar, eminent artist and former Vice-Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts; and the exhibiting artist Maria Semenova.
In her inaugural address, Ms. Anastasia Khokhlova, Director of the Russian House, emphasized that art is a powerful medium to strengthen human connections and highlighted the importance of such programs in promoting cultural dialogue between Nepal and Russia. Artist Maria Semenova shared insights into her artistic journey and inspirations, describing art as a universal language of emotions and relationships.
Special Guest Mr. Kiran Manandhar underscored the significance of international artistic exchange, noting that initiatives like this foster deeper cultural understanding. Chief Guest Mr. Bhupal Rai, a distinguished literary and cultural figure, highlighted the role of art and literature in enriching Nepal’s cultural and educational landscape while further strengthening Nepal–Russia relations.
During the program, Maria Semenova presented a painting as a gift to the chief guest, while the Russian House Director honored the special guest with a recognition token for his contribution to Nepali art.
The “With Love from Russia” exhibition stands as a strong testament to the enduring friendship, creativity, and long-term cultural partnership between Nepal and Russia.
